Terms And Conditions

Welcome to JAXICS!

These Terms and Conditions are based on the bylaws of the Indian Cultural Society of Jacksonville (further to be indicated as ICS), as established by the membership by general vote. In case of any contradiction between the Terms and Conditions as displayed on this webpage and the bylaws, the bylaws will prevail.

A. ELIGIBILITY
• Membership is open to all individuals, couples and families.

B. START AND DURATION OF MEMBERSHIP
• Membership starts on September 1 of the year or the day membership payment has been received in the account of ICS.
• Membership will last for 12 months from September 1 each year and ends on August 31 of the following year.
• In case payment for renewal of the membership has not been received, member’s access to the website will be converted to a non-member account and will be treated as a non-member at any future events.
• Membership can be ended prior to the end date in cases mentioned under {E}.

C. MEMBERSHIP FEES
• Membership fees will be paid by credit card or Zelle transfer to treasurer@jaxics.org
• Membership fees shall be set by the ICS Executive Committee (ICS-EC) and approved by ICS Advisory Board. ICS-EC may create different categories of membership and variable levels of membership fees.
• Membership fees is NON-REFUNDABLE. No pre-rated or full refunds or adjustment’s will be issued once membership dues are paid.

D. RIGHTS
• Members shall have the right to participate in programs and activities organized by ICS, subject to the rules established by the ICS-EC and ICS bylaws. In addition, members shall have the right to
o hold office in ICS-EC;
o vote for elected officers;
o vote on matters referred by ICS;

E. END OF MEMBERSHIP
• The membership ends if the membership period has ended and the member has not renewed membership.
• In case membership fees due are not paid, ICS has the right to terminate the membership of the member involved.
• In case a member deploys activities that may harm the interests of ICS significantly, or in case a member acts in a way that in severe contradiction with ICS aims and nature, ICS withholds the right to end the membership of the member involved.
• Any member has the right to terminate his or her membership before the formal end of the membership period. Termination has to be sent in writing to ICS and does not constitute any right of reimbursement of membership fees.
