India's Republic Day

We had a great turnout for the Republic Day celebrations. Thanks to all the attendees, organizers, and volunteers for making first event of 2018 a success.

We had 18 performances representing different Indian states including 3 Jhankis presented by regional organizations. Approximately 750 people, 500 adults, and 250 kids attended this event.

Event highlights

  • We had a total of 302 participants participated in this event. Our participation was driven by regional organizations. We had participation from TAJA (Telugu Association), Tamil Mandram, MANOFA (Malayalee association), Savi Kannada, MMJAX (Marathi Mandal) and DHUUM (Delhi, Haryana, Utter Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Madhya Pradesh)
  • We had a variety of performances with 4 group songs, 3 Jhankis, 1 skits and 10 group dances.
  • We announced the winners of Poster competition that was held on Jan 20th at Hindu Temple. All of the participants received a medal and a certificate for participating. Approximately 40 kids participated in Poster competition across 3 age groups.
  • Chief Guest Anna Lopez Brosche, Jacksonville City Council President graced us with her presence and gave remarks.
