Tournament format

It was great to see such a good turnout for our TT tournament today. After round robin matches, here are group standings and brackets. Looking forward to seeing all group winners and runners up on Sunday at 3:00 PM. Please arrive on time, so we can finish all matches on time.

Men Singles round robin will be played on Friday June 29th starting 6:30 PM. All participants need to be at venue for initial draw.
Women Singles and Doubles, Men Doubles and Men Singles knockout stages will be played on Sunday July 1st starting 3:30 PM.

Men Singles – All participants will be divided in 8 groups of 4 participants. Each participant in group will play all other participants in group in round robin fashion. Top 2 participants in each group will continue to knock out stage. Total of 16 participants will continue to knock out stage. ICS committee will publish rules for resolving ties.

Men Doubles – All teams will be divided in 2 groups of 4 teams. In group stage, each team will play all other teams. After round robin stage, 2 top teams will go on to semi-final stage. Top 2 teams will play semi-final and final on knockout basis.

Women Singles – All participants will play all other participants in a round robin. Top 2 participants will play each other in a final.

Women Doubles –

Resolving Ties: Each round robin win will be worth 2 points. In case of ties, first tie will be record between individual participants. If there is still a tie, next tie will be based on number of net sets won and then next tie will be number of net points won.

Rules

  • All matches in round robin stages will be best of 3 sets.
  • Matches in knockout stages will be best of 5 sets. ( Round of 16 and Round of 8 )
  • All semi-final and finals will be best of 7 sets.
  • Each set will consist of 11 points with winner winning set by a margin of 2 points.
  • ICS will supply tournament balls. Participants need to bring their own rackets.
  • In case of any disputes, ICS tournament organizer decision will be final.

All international table tennis rules will apply.
